Short Break

Well, the swine flu (H1N1 virus) has decided to visit our family this past weekend. My oldest son just got home from the hospital after three days with a NASTY case of it, and my daughter, myself and my husband are all developing the symptoms my son initially started with....AHHH! My son came home from a field trip last Thurday, not feeling well...so I took him him and they told me it was croup...but he just kept getting worse and started turning purple! So, we took him in again and they ended up admitting him with pneumonia and later diagnosed him with the swine flu. Apparently, TWELVE kids from his class at school called in sick on Friday...so it is definitely going around. We'll be hanging out at our home for a while and taking care of each other for at least a week. At least my little 4-year is showing NO signs of being sick...he is as active as usual!

So....I might be "out-of-commission" for a few days...tending to the needs of my family (and myself). Yeah, right....like the mom ever gets to take care of herself...ha-ha! :)

(The H1N1 vaccine is supposedly starting to be developed in small quantities, so if you can get your hands on it....GET IT!!! It is totally different from the "seasonal strain" so get both. The swine flu can be a NASTY bug!)

  1. Yikes! Hope you all have an easier time of it than your son. Glad to hear he is recovering. My aunt in California was sick for a month, visiting several doctors before becoming so weak she couldn't stand. She was admitted to the hospital with severe dehydration that had shut down her kidneys...and the swine flu. Fortunately, she recovered but it was touch and go for a few days there. Take care of yourself and your family. We certainly appreciate everything you do for us but this is more important.
